Warcraft 3 Balance Changes

1.0 Notes

General

Low Upkeep tax lowered to 20%, down from 30%.
High Upkeep tax lowered to 40%, down from 60%.
Hero Armor no longer reduces the damage from spells, lowered from 30%.

Humans

Archmage
Starting strength increased to 15, up from 14.

Blood mage
Model File changed to Kael, from the original.
Movement speed lowered to 270, down from 300.

Banish rank 1 duration lowered to 10 seconds, down from 12.
Banish rank 2 duration increased to 20 seconds, up from 15.
Banish rank 3 duration increased to 30 seconds, up from 18.

Banish rank 1 hero duration lowered to 3.33 seconds, down from 4.
Banish rank 2 hero duration increased to 6.67, up from 5.
Banish rank 3 hero duration increased to 10 seconds, up from 6.

Banish rank 1 mana cost lowered to 70, down from 75.
Banish rank 2 mana cost increased to 70, up from 60.
Banish rank 3 mana cost increased to 70, up from 50.

Paladin
Holy light rank 1 mana cost increased to 75, up from 65.
Holy light rank 2 mana cost increased to 75, up from 65.
Holy light rank 3 mana cost increased to 75, up from 65.

Divine shield rank 1 duration lowered to 12 seconds, down from 15.
Divine shield rank 2 duration lowered to 24 seconds, down from 30.
Divine shield rank 3 duration lowered to 36 seconds, down from 45.

Divine shield rank 1 cooldown increased to 37 seconds, up from 35.
Divine shield rank 2 cooldown lowered to 49 seconds, up from 50.
Divine shield rank 3 cooldown lowered to 61 seconds, up from 65.

Divine shield rank 1 mana cost increased to 50, up from 25.
Divine shield rank 2 mana cost increased to 50, up from 25.
Divine shield rank 3 mana cost increased to 50, up from 25.



Footman
Defend no longer has a chance to deflect enemy attacks back towards them.

Mortar Team
Hit points increased to 380, up from 360.

Sorceress
Slow attack speed reduction increased to 30 percent, up from 25.
Slow movement speed reduction lowered to 40 percent, down from 60.

Invisibility may now be cast on the sorcerer herself.
Invisibility may now be cast on suicidal units.
Invisibility now breaks after direct damage is taken.
Invisibility now breaks after picking up an item.

Buildings

Arcane Vault
Dust of Appearance added to tier 1 section of items.

Orcs

Blade master
Movement speed lowered to 300, down from 320.

Wind walk now breaks after direct damage is taken.
Wind walk now breaks after picking up an item.
Wind Walk now breaks after buying an item.
Wind Walk now breaks after losing an item.

Wind walk rank 2 duration increased to 40 seconds, up from 35.
Wind walk rank 3 duration increased to 60 seconds, up from 50.

Wind walk rank 3 bonus damage increased to 120, up from 100.

Wind walk rank 2 bonus movement speed lowered to 20 percent, down from 40.

critical strike rank 1 lowered to 1.67 times normal damage, down from 2.
critical strike rank 2 lowered to 2.33 times normal damage, down from 3.

Far seer
Starting strength increased to 16, up from 15.

Far sight rank 1 mana cost lowered to 60, down from 75.
Far sight rank 3 mana cost raised to 60, up from 50.

Far sight rank 1 area of effect increased to 100, up from 60.
Far sight rank 2 area of effect increased to 200, up from 180.
Far sight rank 3 area of effect lowered to 300, down from 400.

Feral spirit rank 1 cooldown lowered to 25 seconds, down from 30.

Feral spirit rank 1 movement speed raised to 350, up from 320.

Shadow hunter
Starting strength increased to 16, up from 15.
Movement speed lowered to 300, down from 320.

Hex rank 1 duration lowered to 10 seconds, down from 15.
Hex rank 2 duration lowered to 20 seconds, down from 30.
Hex rank 3 duration lowered to 30 seconds, down from 45.

Hex rank 1 hero duration lowered to 3.33 seconds, down from 4.
Hex rank 2 hero duration increased to 6.67 seconds, up from 5.
Hex rank 3 hero duration increased to 10 seconds, up from 6.

Demolisher
Hit points increased to 475, up from 425.

Raider
Ensnare duration lowered to 10 seconds, down from 12.
Ensnare cooldown increased to 20 seconds, up from 16.

Kodo Beast
Now receives damage upgrades from the Steel Melee Weapons tree.
Now receives armor upgrades from the Steel Unit Armor tree.

Shaman
Lightning shield mana cost lowered to 75, down from 100.

Bloodlust mana cost increased to 50, up from 40.
Bloodlust attack speed bonus lowered to 30 percent, down from 40.
Bloodlust movement speed bonus increased to 40 percent, up from 25.

Spirit Walker
Starting max mana pool lowered to 200.
Initial mana pool lowered to 75, down from 100.
Starting mana regeneration rate lowered to 0.667, down from 1.
Adept training max mana pool lowered to 300, down from 450.
Master training max mana pool lowered to 400, down from 600.
Hit point bonus from each training lowered to 40, down from 60.
Ancestral Spirit mana cost lowered to 200, down from 250.

Dust of Appearance added to tier 1 section of items.

Night Elves

Shadowmeld now breaks after direct damage is taken.
Shadowmeld now breaks after picking up an item.

Evasion rank 1 avoidance chance lowered to 8 percent, down from 10.
Evasion rank 2 avoidance chance lowered to 16 percent, down from 20.
Evasion rank 3 avoidance chance lowered to 24 percent, down from 30.

Keeper of the grove

Entangling roots rank 1 duration increased to 10 seconds, up from 9.
Entangling roots rank 2 duration lowered to 20 seconds, down from 24.
Entangling roots rank 3 duration lowered to 30 seconds, down from 36.

Entangling roots rank 1 hero duration increased to 3.33 seconds, up from 3.
Entangling roots rank 2 hero duration increased to 6.67 seconds, up from 4.
Entangling roots rank 3 hero duration increased to 10 seconds, up from 5.

Entangling roots rank 3 damage per second lowered to 15, down from 25.

Force of nature now summons treants in front of the hero similar to other summoning spells, instead of requiring trees.

Thorns aura rank 1 damage returned raised to 15 percent, up from 10.
Thorns aura rank 2 damage returned raised to 30 percent, up from 20.
Thorns aura rank 3 damage returned raised to 45 percent, up from 30.

Priestess of the Moon
Scout rank 1 mana cost lowered to 75, down from 100.
Scout rank 3 mana cost increased to 75, up from 50.

Warden
Model File changed to Maiev, from the original.
Starting strength increased to 19, up from 18.
Movement speed lowered to 300, down from 320.

Units

Archer
Hit points increased to 320, up from 245.
Elune’s grace passive ability removed.

Glaive Thrower
Hit points increased to 450, up from 300.
Now receives armor upgrades from the Moon Armor tree.

Druid of the Claw
Switching forms mana cost increased to 50, up from 25.

Web duration lowered to 10 seconds, down from 12.

Obsidian Statue
Mana pool lowered to 400, down from 600.

Starting strength increased to 16, up from 15.

Mana Shield rank 2 damage absorbed per point of mana increased to 2, up from 1.5.
Mana Shield rank 3 damage absorbed per point of mana increased to 3, up from 2.

Pandaren Brewmaster
Drunken Brawler Rank 1 chance to dodge lowered to 4 percent, down from 7.
Drunken Brawler Rank 2 chance to dodge lowered to 8 percent, down from 14.
Drunken Brawler Rank 3 chance to dodge lowered to 12 percent, down from 21.

Drunken Brawler Rank 1 chance to critical strike increased to 15 percent, up from 10.
